TomAvontuur.com is a free website to inform and entertain people about trail running. No profits are made in any way. No (third party) advertisements are placed. Just pure content. TomAvontuur.com is located in The Netherlands. Contact us via info@tomavontuur.com.

2. Purpose of the processing

Because we (Tom Avontuur) do not care about advertisements, we only collect data to keep track of the number of visitors on this website (we do not track you across websites, nor are we doing any profiling). If you place a comment, write in the guest book or sign up for the newsletter, we collect the data that you put in the forms.

Matomo is used to analyse the behaviour of the website visitors to identify potential pitfalls; not found pages, search engine indexing issues, which contents are the most appreciated, etc. Once the data is processed (number of visitors reaching a not found pages, viewing only one page, etc.), Matomo is generating reports for website owners to take action, for example changing the layout of the pages, publishing some fresh content, etc.

Matomo is processing the following personal data:

  • E-mail address (when placing a comment or signing up for the news letter)
  • Name (when placing a comment)

And also (non-personal data):

  • Title of the page being viewed

The personal data received through Matomo are sent to our hosting’s database (https://mijn.host/) and are not shared with other parties.

4. Retention period

We are keeping the personal data captured within Matomo no longer than needed. Comments that have been placed on the website remain visible until the end of TomAvontuur.com.

We only place necessary functional and analytics cookies to keep track of unique visitors’ behavior on our website. Note that we do not use tracking- or third party cookies and do not track visitors across websites.
